I have a Whirlpool model DU912PFGQ0 that recently started leaking out the door near the center/bottom. Never leaks around the edges or sides, just the bottom. Doesn't happen with every wash, but probably 75%.

There doesn't appear to be a seal at the bottom of the door, only around the tub at the sides and top. So what keeps the water in? I stopped the wash when it started leaking and opened the door. The water seems a bit high to me, higher than I would expect since there's no seal at the bottom of the door. Float seems to be working fine and is free. Even with the water higher than I expected it to be, float was still resting at its lowest position.

Any thoughts?

It could be the water valve. I've seen that happen many times before. Make sure the drain pump is draining all the water at the end of the cycle. They stopped making the valve but you can probably find a universal aftermarket valve.
