I have an almost 5 year old Whirlpool electric range (model WFE505W0HS1). It's stainless steel door frame is separating from the front glass pane of the oven (picture attached). It seems to be joined to the oven glass with some sort of an adhesive foam. Any idea what kind of tape this is (how thick, single vs. double sided adhesion or used in conjunction with another adhesive, how high a temperature it can withstand, etc.)? Also, is there a better alternative to this adhesive foam tape (other than getting a new oven where the frame is screwed to the body)?

I'm afraid those parts are sold to us already assembled together. They don't tell us what they used and I'm not certain of anything to recommend. I would assume it would have to be temperature tolerant. If you just needed to stick a small area, maybe high temp. silicone adhesive?

Thanks. When you look at the picture of the exposed tape, so you have any idea what kind of tape (thickness, width, etc) they might have used?
