I noticed water at the bottom of the freezer and things starting to defrost. We just had a bad storm in which we lost power. Not sure if that was the factor. All the lights work, fan works, front panel works. The compressor kicks on for 5 seconds and turns off. It does this every few minutes. I do notice a clicking noise when the compressor turns on and off that I have not noticed before and maybe didn't pay much attention too. Any help would be great. Thanks for anyones time!

I think it is the compressor start device. I took it off and hear this slight rattle to it. I assume it should not rattle at all. Might try and order that first.

Yes, usually when the compressor start relay rattles its bad.

You can also use a multimeter to ohm test it for continuity, if your meter does not read continuity, meaning the digital numbers on your meter do not change when you ohm test it, then its bad.

See the photo below of it? You put your 2 meter probes in both parallel holes at the same time and see what your meter reads. Keep the refrigerator unplugged when ohm testing it.
