• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

Hello,

I have a Whirlpool GSC308PRS01 Wall Oven Microwave Combo. The microwave seems to have become weak with time. Is the fix replacing the Magnetron?

Are there any good links to buy and videos to replace?

Thanks!

The microwave seems to have become weak with time.

While not for your specific model you can test the microwave's output using the following procedure.

BTW. Stir the water well before measuring its temperature. The top might be slightly hotter than the rest right after heating.

Is the fix replacing the Magnetron?

That is the only cause I know of for reduced heating as long as it is functioning. Most other failures would prevent all heat.

any good videos to replace?

There are several on YouTube. I didn't however see any for a combo microwave/oven unit like yours. Some of the others might give you a general idea of replacing the actual part once you get to it.

Thank you, do you happen to have the link to the replacement part?
