Hi,
Our whirlpool (GX5FHTXVY00) fridge stopped cooling a couple days ago. The freezer has continued to keep its temperature.
We have tested out a few things so far: Both fans spin freely. The condenser fan works when the unit is powered on, while the evaporator fan only works when directly applied power. We noticed a resistor for the control board failed and we tried a new board only to have the same evaporator fan resistor fail catastrophically upon programming (pictured). There is also some ice build up in the back of the freezer (pictured)
First picture is of original board with worn resistor. 2nd picture is of new board with failed resistor
Thanks,
-Nick
