I have a whirlpool estate side by side and the ice maker leaks when it fills. It leaks from the little trough that the water goes down to get to the ice maker. Other than that it works great.

Hi,

Check for a ice blockage in the fill cup, I've seen that many times on my service calls.

Here's the ice maker for this model:

There is a video in the ice maker part link that shows you how to remove the ice maker.

Let us know what you find.

half way up the filler tube?

Look at post #1 here:
You mean the plastic ice fill chute?

If so, here's the part you will need, its the exact same as @Karoline Nelson:

I have a question before I change out the filler chute. Could the refrigerator not being level cause the issue as well? Just trying to cover all my bases.

How unlevel is it?

Normal would be just the front is raised a little so the doors close by-themselves.

Did you remove the ice maker and check that fill chute?

So I took out the ice maker and the full chute and this is what I found. The full chute is in good condition. No holes or cracks. The ice maker appeared to be fine. There was some ice where the water enters the ice maker. I am at a loss. Not sure what to try next.

Then there must be a hairline crack in the chute that you can't see.

That is not the case I took the chute out of the refrigerator and even held it up to the lights and did not see anything. I could not feel anything either. I wish there was a crack in the chute. Then I could easily fix it

Then it has to be in that fill line, that's the only part left where it can leak from.:)

Unfortunately, I couldn't locate just that fill tube alone that comes in from the back, Whirlpool doesn't seem to list it.

Here's the parts diagram for your model:

You will probably need to go to your local appliance parts store and see if they can locate it.

If your in Phoenix go to Appliance Parts Company, they have may locations in the Valley.
