hello, I'm dealing with an issue going on 2 months now where the freezer builds up with frost and the vents start freezing over. The fridge then starts getting warmer. I turned off the fridge for 24 hours and plug it back in. works great for a week or so before it happens again.

it sounds like it's most likely the control board? I read that it could be the defrost timer as well but I'm having trouble locating that and don't see any parts available for this model.

also, what is the best place to buy a new control board?


is it too risky to buy on amazon?

model WRF535SMBM00 (freezer on board) fridge on top.

Is the freezer fan running?

If so, then 3 parts control the defrost cycle--->The defrost thermostat, defrost heater, and JAZZ control board.

Here's the defrost thermostat assembly below for your model, it comes with the wire harness. The black round part is your defrost thermostat. You will need to ohm test it(WHILE ITS FROSTY). If its NOT already frosty, then ohm test it in a glass of ice water, waiting at least 5 minutes before ohm testing it.

Unplug the wire harness first before ohm testing it.

Your model doesn't use a defrost timer, the JAZZ control board cycles it into the defrost cycle.
