Whirlpool top load washer WTW4816FW2 no lights strange drain motor sound

Washer sat indoors for 6 months after 1 year of use from new. After hookup there are no lights (fuse good), and the drain motor constantly runs lid open or not. I had it completely apart and found nothing obvious. I do hear a single click from one of the water inlet solenoids. My wife said the lights initially came on, she started a load but the water never went in and it does as described above no matter how long it stays plugged in. I did read about a possible motor reset procedure. Any help?

Check your wiring inside the control console where your control board is located, critters like to chew on those wires when appliances sit a long time without being used.

If the wiring looks good, then it sounds like a possibly control board problem.
