Hi All..

This washer is level, and works apart from a fairly pronounced periodic wobble that happens only once the basket reaches full speed, shown in this video (wobble starts about 15 seconds in):

Whirlpool Washer Spin Wobble - YouTube

Washer has a brand new inner tub/balance ring/drive block. I have already tried replacing the springs, stubber blocks, skate plate blocks and motor coupling. Nothing has made any difference to the issue.

The clutch seems good.. not getting hot in spin, other functions working correctly, etc. With basket removed shaft seems to spin fine with no noticeable vibration.

Anyone ever seen this particular type of periodic wobble at top speed?

TIA

Hi,

Yup, that's perfectly Normal.:)

You can come to my house here in Arizona and I will show you my Whirlpool top loader that I have, its just like yours and mine does the exact same thing.:)

Well, I'm a bit far away but I'd appreciate a video of your one doing the same :)

Is this something to do with the design of the transmission? I noticed on other threads about transmission failure that it is preceded by a noise at about that same 3hz / 190 times per minute rate as the wobble i am observing.

Sure I'd be glad to make a video of mine doing this but you will need to wait till later this week, I'm swamped with too much work the first half of this coming week.

I noticed on other threads about transmission failure that it is preceded by a noise at about that same 3hz / 190 times per minute rate as the wobble i am observing.
Can you point those out to me?

Jake
