Howdy, in troubleshooting my washer's wet clothes, I came across this great forum. I narrowed down my issues using the great threads here.
(Some interesting sounds recorded: )

I pulled the washplate out. (Was not easy to remove, I used a pair of vice grips in the center and wiggled it out.)

Then got to the hub. Pulled the hub out and found that it was indeed stripped out. These are hard to find. Everywhere has these out of stock since January. I ordered a knock-off one from Amazon.

My question is about the teeth on the Transmission Gear case. Is it still usable? I'm not sure at that point I want to put that much into the washer? (Can I just replace the post?)

Yes, the transmission spline is very bad, you can try to put that hub on and see if it works, but it may continually keep wearing that hub out until you replace the transmission.

Here's the transmission(gearcase) for your model: W11454734 Gearcase

Thanks, I thought it was a little chewed up but wanted to make sure. Guess I'll give it a go to replace and see how it goes.

Yes, sounds good.

It's amazing how bad this is.

Got it swapped out and after a couple runs it seems to be working great. Thanks.

Yes, that is very bad per your photo of it.

Did you replace the transmission and hub? Or just the hub?

Jake

Perfect! That looks great!
