I recently replaced the gear case (W11035747) in my Whirlpool Low H2O washer (WTW4950XW3) as the previous one had failed along with the tub seal. The washer sounded like a jet engine during the spin cycle and eventually leaked severely from the bottom. After the repair I ran the calibration and all seemed to work fine. That said the washer makes a loud ticking sound during the wash cycle - almost like a very loud clock ticking. Spin cycle seems fine and the wash drum moves freely with no noise by hand. The agitator does not move independently from the wash drum though - not sure if it is supposed to.

Any ideas on what that could mean? I will say that the drive belt was almost shot and I have a new one on order - I didn't have that part available during my repair and my wife had waited a week to get the washer fixed so I just used the old one.

Hi,

Can you make a video of this happening? Then upload it to Youtube, then embed the link here.

That's a noise I haven't heard before, I will ask Rick what he thinks it is.
