Hello fellers,

I have an old Whirlpool WTW5300SQ0 washing machine that had worn agitator dogs. I opened it up to install a new agitator kit I bought online. Most online tutorials suggest to use agitator grease which costs 20+ dollars (specifications say that it's simply a high content silicone grease). Will a 3 dollar silicone grease work just fine?

Also, what type of grease if any should I apply to the transmission head. Here is an image to what I am referring to:

Any helps is appreciated!

Hi,

Probably.

what type of grease if any should I apply to the transmission head

I don't care for much grease near the clothes....a .little petroleum jelly can help protect the tranny shaft and spline.
