Hello can you provide any info or links on how to install a side venting kit on an LG dryer? I just received my new LG washer tower and the dryer vent is at the bottom on the back of the unit. It has the option to change to a side vent but I cannot find any instructions to install the kit.

Yes we watched that video but with the design of the new LG wash tower, the dryer is fixed to the top of the washer and there is no way to separate it. In the end we were able to install the side vent kit by accessing the round openings on the back and side. I strongly recommend buying the LG kit. It’s a bit more expensive ($50) but the vents are cut to measure. Taping the 2 vents to the elbow bracket was tricky because you only have one hand available . It would have nice if the LG engineers had designed it so the back panel could be removed. Instead the panel is riveted in place and there no way to take it off without damaging the side finish panels.

BTW. What I linked to is the OEM LG part. That company only sells OEM parts. The video however may not be for that exact part. They sometimes can only provide general installation instructions. I haven't personally done the job on that model to know the difference.

After installation and with direct straight vent outside reduced the space between the wall and dryer to 2”. Previous space was about 7”.
