• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

Whirlpool over the range microwave will not start.

From what I've read the problem appears to be one or more door switches. Any insight on how to access the switches on this particular unit?

Hi,

Your missing the last digit of your model number, it should be one of these below:
WMH73521CS0
WMH73521CS1
WMH73521CS2
WMH73521CS3
WMH73521CS4
WMH73521CS5

Here's the door switches and videos of how to access and ohm test them: Door Switch Parts

Let us know what you find.

Thanks,

Ok, the link I posted to the door switches above in my post #2, all three are for your model, ohm test them and see if they are good. Make sure you unplug the microwave first and don't touch anything else.:)
