• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

Our 5 year old Whirlpool WMHA9019HN1 in the Sunset Bronze (which was extremely hard to find) has a dead color display control panel. The unit has always had software issues to where the display would always reboot during cooking, but this time while sensor cooking popcorn, the display went dead. I followed the suggested, unplug it for 10 minues and plug it back in, but that only makes the backlight on the display come on for about a quarter of a second. Do I need a new motherboard, or something? And suggestions?

Hard to say without some testing. Unfortunately, I only see a complete door. The door contains the UI and the driver I believe. The control board is in the microwave itself. You’d need to test and make sure the board is sending signals to the door. I am afraid I do not have a service manual or schematic for your model. Is there a tech sheet in your microwave? It is usually located behind the top fascia trim behind the door. If you can post the entire model label, it may help….

I forgot to mention that the interior light does come on when the door opens. The model number from the label inside the door says WMHA9019HN-1, manufactured March 2018.
Vertically there is this number W11180016 on that label. I have taken it all apart and cleaned connectors. Now when I did this, all sorts of plastic tabs and parts were just coming apart, very brittle, not what I expected for a $900 top of the line Smart appliance.

Ok, let me get that. FYI, there are multiple colors on this one, the straight stainless steel one is WMHA9019HZ, the Black stainless steel is WMHA9019HV, mine is the Sunset Bronze Stainless steel WMHA9019HN

Thank you for that. Unfortunately no linked tech sheet or schematic. I’m sorry
