My 2005 Whirlpool WOC54EC0AS02 died when I was preheating the oven with the microwave running. The circuit breaker tripped as well.
After resetting the breaker (which stayed in), the control panel was dark and nothing worked. I pulled the unit from the cabinet and
found no voltage on the L1 leg of the power feed. Back at the circuit panel and I discovered that the screw terminal for the L1 leg was never
tightened! -Gotta thank the builder for that!
I now have two legs of power feeding the oven and I have 120VAC at the input to the control board but the only thing that works is the
microwave oven internal light. The two internal fuses are good and there isn't any obvious sign of charring or any other damage to the
circuit boards atop the microwave (I'd love to know what popped that 30A breaker).
The service diagrams don't provide much detail that would help me troubleshoot this further and I'd like to avoid "easter-egging" my way
through buying and swapping out parts. Any idea where to go next?
Thanks in advance!
