• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

We have a whirlpool electric wall oven microwave combo that is on 1.5 years old. We keep getting a F1E4 microwave power relay error. We have to flip the breaker to reset the system to work after this happens. Last time we did this, we lost power to the unit. An electrician had to replace the breaker it was bad. The unit is on its own 40amp breaker. And two days later we received the error again. Does this sound like a wiring issue, or does our unit have a relay switch that needs replaced, or would you suggest a whole new control panel?

The microwave relay is probably shorted. Open the door and place a cup of water in the microwave. Close the door and remove power from the machine and wait 30 seconds. Restore power. Without opening the door start the microwave for 1 minute. If the error returns replace the appliance mgr:

Okay, we decided to look at our control board before we ordered it. Ours isn't the one listed above. Can anyone help us determine what control board we need to order? I have attached a picture of our board and our model number listed on the inside of the microwave. I can't find anything different listed anywhere for this part. All I find is W11261167 and that isn't even the same shape as ours. The board in the picture is located behind the touch screen. There is another board on the top of the microwave, it is beige and has a part number of W11290002. Not sure which one is considered the control board. We are getting an F1E4 microwave power relay error message and that we need to replace our control board. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The board in your picture is the microwave HMI

The 4903 MW power relay is on the microwave ACU. The one I gave you the link to is the oven ACU. The oven ACU is mounted on the side of the machine and the MW ACU is on top the machine. The parts diagram only showed the one control board on top. Unfortunately it was the oven ACU that's on the side of the machine.

This is the correct part, Microwave ACU:

Ok, we replaced the part today. the screen works, you go through all of the sequences for the microwave to cook or re-heat and when you push start nothing happens. Oven is fine. It comes on preheats etc. The microwave worked before, we were just constantly getting the power relay failure and had to go flip the breaker to get the microwave to work after the error. Sometimes it would work for days before we would get the message again, others it would only take a few times of using it. Now, we can't even use the microwave. It won't start. Any other suggestions for us to try?

Does the light go on and off when you open and close the door?
Yes, it worked fine. We just kept getting a microwave power relay failure error.. The microwave would stop and we would have to flip the breaker to get it to work again. Well it did until we replaced the part. Now the light is not coming on anymore and the microwave won't start.

Hmm.... Sounds like the new board might be bad. What's the part number of the new board?
