So cycle controller hangs at final fill and rinse. If I pull out knob and advance slightly, it will spin, but not fill and rinse. The tub is empty when it hangs
Is this enough info?
What is that part called and part number?

Since final rinse only uses COLD water, when it hangs at final rinse, do you hear any sound at all, like its trying to fill on COLD water?

What I do is check for 120 volts at the COLD water inlet valve solenoid when it should be filling on COLD water. If your meter reads 120 volts and no COLD water is coming in, then the water inlet valve is the culprit.

Here's the water inlet valve for your model:
WH13X10024 Washer Water Inlet Valve

There is a video of how to access it in the water inlet valve part link.

Jake,
Awesome reply, you've given me an alternative explanation I would have never considered or thought of.
Should be able to test that by running a cold water only cycle. Tomorrow. I'll let you know.

Thanks

Jake,
You are a genius!!!
That you were able to make the correct diagnosis with the limited info I supplied, shows been there done that!!!!
So a cold water cycle yielded a groaning sound but no water.
What where do I get a cold water valve? Likely same as hot water valve.
Likely located near the water inlets, remove top cover?

Thank you

Glad to hear that was the problem.(y)

Look at post #2 above, I posted the link to the water inlet valve and you will see a video of how to replace it in that part link too.

Jake,

The new water valve solved the problem. Sourced from Amazon for $16 including shipping rather than APP for $75 with shipping. I donated $20 via Paypal to your fund (suspect that's more than the APP kickback) for your expert advice, saved me a ton of time!!!

Until my next appliance failure.
