Hi there,

I just bought a WRS321SDHZ08 yesterday, and the fan noise is already driving me crazy. The fan noise seems coming from both in side and the back, I feel majorly from the back. The fan makes constant humming sound, but very noisy that I can hear it in bedroom with door closed, almost like a vibration.

I read through online reviews and many people complained it is a pretty loud model. I assumed it would be loud but did not expect this noisy. As the noise majorly from the back, I guess it would be the condenser fan? I heard my old LG model fan sound before and it was very quite, nothing like this. Is it common that this model has excess noise? What should I do to fix it? Thank you very much!

Hi,

Can you please make a video of that fan noise and attach it to your next post, or you can upload the video to Youtube and post the Youtube link here. Or share your video per Google Drive, Dropbox, or Microsoft OneDrive and post the share link here.

We would need to hear it to see if it sounds louder than normal.

Thank you very much Jake, please hear the record attached here. I don't hear crack or weird sound, it's just very loud.

Thanks Jason!

That sounds normal to me, I own a Whirlpool in my kitchen now, and it sounds like mine. I bought mine new in 2014 and its even quieter than mine.

Thanks Jake! Guess I am just irritated by this humming frequency. The actual sound volume is louder than in the record. Is there any way to decrease its volume? For example, I plan to buy some sound absorbing foam and mat to apply on the wall behind the fridge, and surrounding the fan area, would that be ok?

Also, this model only have wheels, no feet. So it is not leveled on its own in my kitchen. To level it, I had to put some cardboard under one front wheel. Is that ok?

Thank you a lot.

Just as long as you don't block any of the air vents, you don't want it to overheat the compressor/condenser that will cause more problems.

Yes, that's fine.

Anytime!
