Hi. I hope someone can shed some light here. I'm dealing with a whirpool fridge gold series, it has an evaporator on the fridge side that keeps freezing up. I don't see any heating element on this side, so what is that's supposed to keep it from freezing? Just the fan?

I have been having trouble lately with it freezing but only on the fridge side, the freezer is always perfect and I have seen the defrost come on on the freezer side... thanks in advance.. the fan appears to be working but I'm wondering if maybe it's just weak.. thanks in advance again

Hi, I located a service bulletin about this issue. I'm attaching it below.

What is your serial number?

SERIAL NUMBERS: Prior to HRX40
POSSIBLE CONCERNS: In certain circumstances, consumers may experience warmer than usual temperatures in the refrigerator section, due to ice accumulation on the evaporator.

POTENTIAL CAUSES: This concern can result from multiple possible causes including:
Failed or restricted evaporator fan motor
Faulty or mislocated defrost thermistor.
Poor door gasket sealing
RC door not closing properly
Air leaks within the air duct, and evaporator cover assembly.
Evaporator fan not running long enough to clear frost.

Read what it says on Page 2 to do first before ordering the new HMI/User Interface Assembly.

Here it is for your model, if needed--->W11467022 changes to W11509093
