I was fixing a whirlpool refrigerator, jumped the timer on the ice machine- it works great. Water solonoid valve didn't send water to ice maker though. Checked waterflow from inlet and outlet and ohmed out the valve- valve is good. Checked voltage to valve and its only getting 9v- not getting 120v. The fridge doesn't have a schematic so I dont know where it's supposed to get the 120v from! Thanks for the help and advice in advance!

It comes from the ice maker. I think this one will work:

OK, force cycle the ice maker. The end of the harvest cycle is the fill cycle. Check for a 120 VAC across holes "V" and "N" during the fill cycle. If the voltage is correct, check for a broken wire between the ice maker and water valve. If the voltage is not correct, bad ice maker.

Yes, the parts store took it back and ordered me a new one. I installed the old one back and checked voltage out of curiosity, and it read 3v also. Not sure if thats just a coincidence, but i really hope the next one shows 120v!
