Like many have experienced, our ice maker stopped working. Here are my steps to try an troubleshoot:

1. Ran the diagnostics (service test #56) and got an E2 Motor Lost position
2. Ran # 57 and it states that the Harvesting Not complete
   1. I noticed that the heater turned on and the the tray was warm to the touch
   2. final display was 02
3. Ran # 59 to test the motor and had 02 on the display (Harvest not completed)
4. All other tests passed
5. I did notice one day the emitter LED was projected but then the next day LED was not working.
   1. I replaced the emitter with a new one and the emitter was not working
6. Occassionally, I would hear ice being harvested followed by the water fill but no further ice was made.

Question: Is there a way to test the emitter itself? I did place my camera against the emitter and see some flickering but I thought it was LED since I saw a red dot being sent to the receiver. I was hoping the new part would emit the LED that is visible.

Question: Is there a way to reset the ice maker other than shutting down the whole fridge?

So, my ice maker isn't making ice. It passes all the Service tests, except for Test 15 - Ice Level Sensor - which shows 01 Bin Full when the bin is empty. When manually filled with water (Test 45), it quickly freeze it into ice, and will successfully run a Harvest via the Service test (Test 57)...

Your model uses the exact same receiver and emitter.

The Optics LED light will only be on for the first 5 minutes after power is cycled, machine unplugged and then plugged in. This is what Whirlpool says; If you have 14 VDC at the receiver, J1-1 to J1-3 and service test #15 is not reporting the correct status of the ice bin, replace both receiver and emitter:
