Several months ago the evaporator fan in the refrigerator compartment was replaced by a service technician due to it not working. Since that time I can't change the refrigerator compartment temperature by lowering the temperature setting.

It was always set at 37 degrees and that is what the temperature would be in the fridge. Since the repair the temperature constantly reads 39 and 40 degrees. I know those are acceptable fridge temps, but I am bothered by not being able to lower it by adjusting the temperature.

I have had the temperature set at 33 degrees for at least a month. Once in a while first thing in the morning it will be 38 degrees. I have run all the diagnostic tests I could find for thermistors and all come up as passed (Service Test 1 FC thermistor, 2 RC thermistor, 39 Evap RC thermistor, 65 Pantry thermistor, and 58 Ice maker heater activation and thermistor.

I have tried unplugging the refrigerator for 2 minutes to let the control board reset to no avail. Is there some type of mode that would make the temperature control inoperable?

Some of the items replaced/repaired include control board, freezer fan and sensors, refrigerator fan, Ice maker icing up in fridge (2 times), evaporator coil in fridge replaced. These are the ones I remember off the top of my head. We have this fridge for almost 7 years and have put a fortune into repairs. I've never had a fridge with so many issues.

Hi, Do you hear the refrigerator fan running inside the refrigerator section? Open the refrigerator door and listen for it running, you may need to hold the door switch in to hear it run. I know you said the tech replaced it, but the new one could be defective.

Here's the RC evaporator fan motor for the refrigerator section for your model:

Here's another member that reported the same:

Look at page 5-9 and 5-10 here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/s5wx9d9xppw3wry/R-114 JOB AID W10444924.pdf?dl=0

It will show you how to access/replace it, you may have to remove the Air Tower and the Deli Drawer first, Deli Drawer removal is on 5-7 and 5-8.

The new fan is not defective and is running. It blows cold air. The temperature does not change when the temperature setting is changed.

Ok, then its best to have that same tech come back to find out what's going on.

Your tests are passing and the fan is working,

Jake
