Opened my fridge last night and noticed the upper lights are dimmer than the side lights. This is not normal. The fridge is just out of warranty. Any suggestions?

Thanks Rick, we just noticed the light in the freezer is also off. Will this part fix both? Do you know what causes this?

I removed the switch and checked for power. There was power, so I bypassed the switch to see if the light would turn on. No luck. My guess at this point is either A. The proper current is being supplied to run the LED. B. The LED is bad.

Buying the board you mentioned first. Will replace it and go from there.

Thanks bigbuck!

chrisrokc: Post your the serial number of your refrigerator and see if it matches the service pointer.

Here's the control board in the service pointer it says to order if yours does match: W10830288 Cntrl-Elec

Looks like my serial is K71311662... so it doesn't fall in the range. I unplugged the fridge and plugged it back in. Didn't resolve the problem.

I got the WPW10306786 Invrtr-Box in the mail today. It doesn't look like it is for this unit.

I took the cover off and looked for matching connectors. I couldn’t find anything that match. No instructions were provided.

It doesn't look like the right board. What's the last two numbers after the M in the model number?

Gave that a go too, part fit, but didn't fix the issue.

I did notice there is some ice build up on the back top left hand corner of the fridge. Toward the rear of the ice maker unit. Could this be causing the issue?

From post 4:

Off as in not working? In that case you probably just need to replace the freezer module LED

From post 7:

I don't think you need the board. Just replace the bad module

From post 12

I still think it's the module

Did you try replacing the module yet?

Hi, i have same problem, top light dim and freezer light not working on same refrigerator and got to this page.
So would i just need the module that is mentioned above?
I opened the panel in the back and there are three boards and the link you posted suggest I replace bottom module which is smallest.
