We noticed two days ago that our Whirlpool refrigerator WSF26C3EXF's ice maker was no longer making ice. We had not replaced the water filter in quite a while, and so we did that yesterday. Also, yesterday, the one time we tried to use the in-the-door water dispenser, the breaker was tripped. Today, the ice maker is still not working, and every time we press the in-the-door water dispenser lever, the breaker is tripped. Is this something that can be fixed? The refrigerator is about 12 years old.

Sounds like possibly a short in the wiring causing this problem.

Lots of members have found frayed and broken wires causing the ice maker/and or auger motor to be dead. Read the links below and you will see how they fixed them.

Another member was having a similar problem here: FIXED: GSF26C4EXY02 Whirlpool Gold Ice Maker Problem Look at his post #6 he found frayed and broken wires underneath the freezer door, remove your kickplate and check for that first.
