The washer is making an extremely loud noise for a few seconds between spins at the end of a wash. I might classify the noise as "grinding."

I can't reproduce with a single spin in diagnostic mode. It seems to only happens when it spins, slows down to stop/near stop, and right before it spins up again.

Another problem is the transmission is leaking oil. I'm not sure if the noise is related to the oil leak. The parts underneath it are oily, so they might possibly slip and cause it?

Thank you!

Yes, since the transmission is leaking oil, it could be getting onto other parts underneath the washer like the shift actuator or splutch or belt, and causing that grinding.

Here's the transmission(gearcase) for your model: W11454734 Gearcase

You can remove the splutch and check the plastic cams teeth to see if oil is getting in those teeth.

Here's the Splutch Cam Kit for your model:

Video included in part link that shows you how to remove it/replace it.

Thank you!

The unsettling loud noise has stopped since using soap and water to remove the oil from all parts. I think the oil on the splutch was causing it to slip to make the noise.

Your welcome.
