Good Evening,
New to the forum, i am having an issue with my whirlpool washer and its only just coming on to 2 years. I have a grinding noise that occurs only during spin cycle. I have checked out the other post on the same model by Paul F, however my noise seems to be coming from under the washer plate and not the circuit board. The noise comes and goes about 20 second at a time.

It sounds like either the water pump bearing is going bad, or the transmission bearing is going bad.

To determine which, just remove the electrical connector to the water pump, which is underneath the tub, and see if that noise is still present.
