All good so far, but I just cannot get the new driveshaft to seat all the way. I've tried pounding it with a hammer (into a piece of wood) and split the wood, but no go. I saw a video somewhere where someone said something about the spacer ring slipping down. Is there some trick I'm missing to this? And what do I do? The new driveshaft is partially in now and won't come back out easily either. Should I pound it back out from the bottom and try again?

I already got it "apart". I'm trying to get it back together. I appreciate the post but it doesn't really tell what to do with this driveshaft.
