We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio in Feb 2010. While washing a comforter it made a beep and stopped. I found how to check the codes. What is the F51 code? Do I need to replace a part, if so what part number?

Thanks!!

The F51 error code is a Motor RPS sensor failure. I think if you replace the user interface assembly, that will solve the problem.

Is this is or something else?

If this isn't it, I'm sure I can figure out if you can give me a couple of pointers on what screws to remove....:D

Take the three hex screws out of the back of the console. Lift the console off and disconnect the UI (P11) board cable. Remove the three screws on the User Interface cover and use a small screw driver to pry the two locking tabs out.

Here is the part:

Rick,
First thanks for the info! I took my time and got everything off. Now my only problem is disconnecting one wire from the board. It's pretty tight. Can I use some pliers and pull it staight up very carefully or do you have any pointers? Here is a picture of the wire I need to disconnect.

Take a small screwdriver and work it between the connector and the board

I can't seem to pry it off. Here is a picture to show how the pins are. Do you have the wiring harness number incase I mess this up. I unplugged it from the control board.

OK, I think you're under the part of the connector, with your screw driver, that is attached to the board. Try between the top part and the that piece

Rick,
First thanks for the help!

I ordered the part on Monday and the tech that helped me said it came with the wiring harness attached. Should be here in a few days. If I need any more help, I'll be on sure to ask.:D
