Hi there,

Happy holidays. Our Kitchen Aid Microwave serial TR U 27 10289 door will not shut. I came home and no one would take responsibility. I looked and one of the mechanisms appeared depressed, so i tried to test the other. no both are depresed and the door wont shut and the light stays on as if the machine signals it's open.




Please help if able.

I don't know what the door looked like originally but is the highlighted area broken? I would think it should look similar to the lower portion.

hey dan its an optical illusion, they are the same

Than it will require service. Someone may need to remove the control panel to get to and inspect the latching mechanism inside the unit. Hopefully something is just jamming up in there and not broken. Many of the parts for this model appear to be discontinued. I'd suggest you not try forcing anything.
