My Whirlpool is making a cycling grinding noise, like two smooth metal parts that come in contact once every revolution, when the spin cycle starts. It stops as the spin cycle picks up speed.

I've seen other comments here that this can be the pump as it runs at the start of the spin cycle, but I've replaced the pump and it makes the same sound.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

YLTE6234DQ0 is pulling up as good, please recheck your model number, in fact take a photo of it with your phone and attach it to your next post please.

Also if you can make a video of this sound as well, that would help too and attach it to your next post as well please, or you can upload the video to Youtube and post the Youtube link here. Or share your video per Google Drive, Dropbox, or Microsoft OneDrive and post the share link here.

Link to video:

The squeaking stops at around the 55 second mark as the tub speeds up.

Thank you.

Hi, I installled the new clutch, no difference, new video here, starts off screeching and stops when speeds up:

I'm also having another problem: this is the second washer I've worked on that shakes/won't balance after I replace parts. The suspension springs are good and connected, Here is a video of the same machine shaking while spinning with nothing in it (no clothes/not water). I had a load in it and tried rebalancing by moving the clothes several time, same result. I lay the washer down to work on it, could that upset something?

The only way I could get another washer to spin smooothly, once I had it all apart, was to remove the water filled balance ring, as soon as I put it back on it shakes again. But it doesn't make sense that these are the issue as the washers didn't have a spin problem before I worked on them.

Thank you for any insight.

Jake, one other question: on the other machine I'm working on, it only shakes once I put the balance ring on, if it's the suspension pads shouldn't it shake all the time, even with the ring off? The ring itself looks fine btw, no leaks, all it's fluid, no bangs or anything to knock it out of balance. Thanks.

Looking under the washer I noticed a couple of holes that look like they could align and have wear, is there supposed to be a pin connecting them?

The top tub balance ring has liquid in it, that's normal.

Those are pin shipping holes in your photo, that's normal too.
