FIXED YLTE6234DQ4 Whirlpool Washer - water keeps filling when STOP

Hello,

My Whirlpool YLTE6234DQ4 washer just keeps refilling with water after it completes the last Spin cycle. The water then just keeps refilling even when the dial is at Stop position. If I leave it it'll continue to next wash cycle on the dial. The knob doesn't seem to go into the 'Push-to-Stop' position. It remains at 'Pull-to-Start' state.

After many searches it seems to point to 2 potentially reasons: defective washer timer board and/or Water Inlet Valve.

Could someone please share experience & how to fix this issue please? If you need more info, please let me know.

Hi Allan,

The problem is the timer, if the water inlet valve was bad it wouldn't move to the next cycle, the water would just be coming in non-stop till you shut it off at the water supply line in your house. You see what I mean?
